Natural Health: The Ugly Truth

I have always been a bit different (weird if you will). There was always something about going against the grain that felt comforting to me. I’m not a follower and I always speak my mind. Then, I found this AMAZING company that helped me to highlight all those qualities about myself. I no longer had to hide or deal with negativity behind my “weird tendencies” concerning health. I found my tribe! That same tribe is a group of women and men that encourage me to be exactly who I am!

It wasn’t until I was “tricked” into having IV antibiotics against my will that I decided to take natural health seriously. I dabbled, played with it, circled around it, but I never stopped and said….. okay, THIS IS WHAT IM GOING TO PRACTICE!

I had a high risk pregnancy from day one and a team of doctors and nurses that laughed at my birth plan like they weren’t even going to take me seriously. The thing is, after I said what I needed to say there wasn’t a doctor or nurse in the room that didn’t listen to me after I was finished speaking. I had a doctor that looked at me crazy and asked my significant other what I was doing? He was referring to the brain wave music I had in my ears by way of headphones. It was relaxing me and helping me not to cuss the nurse out if we’re going to keep it real.

Then, I made it 7.5 centimeters with no epidural and the medical team begged me to take the epidural. My entire right side went numb and I couldn’t even put my leg in the stirrup. I had to have someone lift it for me. You want to talk about not being able to crap after a pregnancy!!!! That was why….. I was so upset!

Then, IV antibiotics for a condition that I never saw on paper that actually had. This was the breaking point for me! Candida multiplied like crazy contributing to a horrible bout of postpartum depression and a plethora of other feminine issues. That was it!!! I was putting my foot down! That was the moment I decided I needed to take matters into my own hands concerning my health!

Enter 2018— I’m much better now and I’m offering some wellness tips for you regarding the cold and flu season!

COLD & FLU:

Did you know that South African Geranium aka “umckaloaba” enhances immune function? It also has antimicrobial effects as well as acts as an expectorant. It can be used for treatment of bronchitis, but I found something very interesting about this plant! Oh gosh….. plant based here we go again! No, but seriously it has also been found to interfere with the replication of seasonal influenza A strains!

You can also use a homeopathic remedy called Acontitum Napellus. It specifically treats Flu that comes in suddenly after exposure to dry, cold weather. This is exactly what happened to me! I hadn’t been out of the house for a while and went out Tuesday and bam, FEELING TERRIBLE! If you are using a diffuser you can incorporate essential oils such as tea tree oil, lavender, eucalyptus, and peppermint! This is one of my favorite combos for a chest and feet salve too!

Other options may include: Elderberry Vitamin D Lomatism Dissectum Pelagonium Sidoides American Ginseng N-acetylcysteine

Don’t forget the following!

Double up on probiotics to make the good bacteria flourish in your gut during the virus. This will help with healing and immunity.

Eat light- this will allow the body to focus on healing instead of digestion. It takes a lot of energy to digest your food!

Eliminate dairy, sugar and caffeine as they feed the virus. Caffeine specifically, depletes Zinc which is needed to heal.

May I also suggest one of my supplements called Ease which is a combo of New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel, Bromelain, Serrapeptase and Turmeric instead of acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

In good health, -Liv
